2018 marked the 25th anniversary of our awards banquet, and the celebration at the University of Notre Dame's Dahnke Ballroom rose to the occasion. The magnificant new venue overlooking ND's iconic football stadium and scenic campus, welcomed a record crowd of close to 300 to honor the outstanding projects of 2017, along with exceptional Apprentices from the area's union construction trades. In special recognition of their significant impact to our association and the area's union construction industry, the MACIAF Construction Industry Impact Award was presented to the University of Notre Dame's Department of Facilities, Design, and Operations.
Legendary Notre Dame coach and ESPN analyst Lou Holtz's keynote presentation was the highlight of the evening. Overlooking the stadium where he experienced so much football success, Coach Holtz used his usual warmth and humor to share the experiences that have influenced him and the values that he passes on to those around him.
