The University of Notre Dame's Dahnke Ballroom was once again a magnificant venue for our evening's banquet, where we recognized the outstanding projects of 2018. This year's winners featured an exceptional cross section of the institutions, schools, and businesses that power our community, as well as outstanding select apprentice members of the local construction building trades.
This year's Keynote Speaker was basketball legend & broadcaster Bill Walton. Walton first became known while playing for John Wooden's dominant UCLA Bruins team in the early 70's. While at UCLA, Walton earned three consecutive College Player of the Year Awards while leading the Bruins to two national championships. Following an extraordinary college basketball career, Walton went on to have a Hall of Fame NBA career, eventually becoming a sports broadcaster. Bill's gift of story-telling was on full display as he shared stories from his career and mentors. He even drew special attention from his old friend Digger Phelps who paid a visit to the event, wearing of all things - a UCLA Basketball T-shirt!
