Michiana Builders Association (MBA)

Since 1934, the Michiana Builders Association and its precursors have served north central Indiana and southwest Michigan's most professional, skilled, and accountable commercial contractors, material suppliers, and construction-related professionals. Building upon the theory that there is strength in unity, those who have joined the MBA understand, support, and champion the common goals of increasing opportunities, expanding knowledge and safety, and advancing the welfare of the construction industry.

What the MBA Does

PROMOTE

The MBA promotes the quality, skill, and accountability of our contractor-members and their skilled and ready union workforce, through public relations, marketing and advertising as well as through direct relationships with both private and public owners, developers, architects, engineers and government officials responsible for construction and development in our area.

EDUCATE

We provide education and training for many aspects of the construction industry for employers and employees alike, from safety and skills to leadership and management. Some of our best resources in our education mission are MBA Associate Members – companies whose excellence and expertise in various construction related fields provide focused and rewarding seminars and classes in various fields.

CONNECT

Valued professional relationships are an integral part of success at any level. With over 100 current Contractor, Supplier, and Associate Members, the MBA offers opportunity for direct connections between companies and individuals who do business with and within the construction arena. Annual events, including our MBA Golf Outing and Excellence in Construction Awards, not only offer excellent opportunities to meet and develop key contacts with potential clients and other construction professionals, these events also offer sponsorship opportunities - an excellent way to present your product or brand to a focused attentive construction community.

SUPPORT

Support for contractors in our area takes many forms, including collective bargaining negotiations (on behalf of both MBA member contractors and non-member contractors who have assigned their bargaining rights to the association), access to our continually updated Planroom, and members' representation to the many labor funds and committees.
