This year's Excellence in Construction Awards was highlighted as always, by the tremendous projects constructed in 2015 by our member contractors and their union workforce. The evening also enjoyed the introduction of a new award the Outstanding Apprentice Achievement Award, recognizing the substantial effort and achievements of select Apprentice members of our local union building trades. Another change for this year was from the usual luncheon event to a more celebratory cocktail hour and dinner, welcoming approximately 240 attendees to the Gillespie Conference Center on the campus of St. Mary's College. Super Bowl MVP and NFL Hall of Fame running back John Riggins entertained the crowd with great stories of his famously big personality, determined work ethic, and record setting football successes.
